All Things Android OS

The first Android operating system device is released as a software stack for mobile devices available worldwide since late 2008/early 2009; that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications.

Android is Google’s open source mobile operating system (OS), developed by the Open Handset Alliance, a network of 48 independent telecom, hardware and software companies.

The excitement surrounding Android versus other mobile OSes is that it has been developed on an open platform, meaning third party developers have unrestricted access to every aspect of the phone’s core functionality, allowing for richer, more intuitive applications to be built.

I firmly believe many other devices and multimedia solutions will soon run Android. Thus showing how powerful the OS is and how it could soon be part of our everyday lives.
